Santa Fe on Curtis Hill (Things Ain't What They Used To Be)




































December 19, 2019:  Following is an update from my friend Dale Jacobson on the image immediately below:  "I think that's a "Red Ball Express,' otherwise known as a hotshot potato train.  The ATSF used to run these as often as necessary when the potatoes were plucked in California.  Sometimes these trains were hauled by passenger power.  Friends of mine caught one such 'Red Ball Express' at Joliet, Illinois  being pulled by Alco PA's.  How I wish I had been with them."
